Hey! I'm singtherage, named so for the opening lines of one of the world's most powerful epics, the Iliad . Currently, I am obsessed with Greek Mythology (especially the Trojan War), Alexander the Great, and onomastology. Whenever I can, I write, read, and research my previously listed obsessions. My favorite epic heroes: Achilles, Odysseus Can't wait for NEPmo! -singtherage

Hello, singtherage. My username is a tribute to Knowledge Masters, an academic thing that I did in middle school. Of course I misspelled it on purpose. *coughcough* I like Greek mythology, but I'm more into the Greek gods and goddesses. I know they play a part in the Illiad and Odyssey too, but I just like the legends about them. Have you ever read the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series? Pretty good modern take on Greek mythology. Just reading the table of contents is enough to make me laugh out loud.
I'm 14, a freshman in high school. I'm taking all honors classes, and running cross country, so I barely have time to breathe, let alone write. But oh well, sleep is overrated anyway. What's onomastology? I am intrigued.

Hi! I'm Eva. My username's for one of my favorite characters that I've written (the rhyme makes me happy, haha). I LOVE Alexander the Great! He's my absolute favorite. I like his friend Hephaestion a great deal also. And his horse. His horse was my actual absolute favorite. But Alexander and Hephaestion are a super close second and third, respectively. I like Greek mythology because it's so interesting. The idea that these people truly believed in those gods and goddesses is just so...I don't know, appealing? Amazing? Awesome to think about? I don't know the right word, but those are all true.
I've only read two epics: Beowulf and Odyssey. I liked Odyssey much more even though I read it for school. I'm a sophomore this year, also taking all honors classes (except for Health, but that's a requirement and who would actually teach a class called "Honors Health"?) and I ran cross country in the fall. I'm doing indoor track now, and the times are so different...I didn't have any time before, so add a sport on and I've practically given up sleep and other leisure time. Ah well. What're you going to do, right?
Nice to meet both of you!

Hi, I'm Cathy. I found this site from NaNoWriMo. I usually write more poetry than prose anyway, so I thought I'd give this a try. I've been writing for three years on and off, and I love it. I don't feel complete without it. I've never finished reading an epic other than the Odyssey, though I'm in the middle of reading Dante's Inferno. At least, I think that's an epic. I guess I just like poetry in general, and it doesn't matter what kind.
I've always enjoyed learning about Greek, Roman, and Norse mythology. I love the creativity in those, and I'm always looking for ways to be innovative. The classic styles are amazing, but I've always loved the idea of a more modern epic, written with contemporary skill. Right now I'm debating between iambic pentameter and free verse.
I'm in high school, and I hope I will have room to breathe. I'm a junior taking five AP classes out of a seven day period, but I think I'll be able to make room when May comes. I'm an officer in my school's writing club, and some other things that take away other bits of my time. My head is usually in the clouds, despite all of this. I know I'm a bit late, but it's nice to meet all of you!

Hi! I'm Sam, I'm 14 and I live in England.
I don't think I've actually ever read an epic so I'm just going to pretend I know what I'm doing XD
I'm in High School and I'm in the top classes for everything (eeeep) but I don't think I've got any exams in May (they're all in June), just lots and lots of Chemistry, Biology and Physics revision ):
I'm like a week later than all of you, but it's nice to see I'm not the only one here

Howdy, all! I'm Adenil, and if you google that name everything you find will probably be me. (It's been my user name for the past 10 years.) I found this site through Nanowrimo, bookmarked it, promptly forgot about it, rediscovered it, and now can't wait for May! I've never written an epic before but I am very excited to try my hand at it. I don't seem to have a plot... or a method... but I'm hoping to find one. Lesse... stuff about me. I'm a high school senior/college sophomore (PSEO... google it) and I love writing. I recently participated in Nanowrimo and am proud to say I now have the bragging rights to say I actually wrote a novel in a month. It's horrendous, but that isn't the point. Um, anyway. I love writing, I want to be a lawyer, and I like Indian (from India) food.

Greetings, I'm a high school history teacher in North Carolina. I discovered this event through NaNoWriMo, which I've done two years running (completing one long novel in the process). My epic will be about the investiture controversy of the eleventh century, and I've been warming up for it by writing a sonnet every day this year. I'm hoping that that will enable me to crank out lots of iambic pentameter. Good luck to everyone!
